Our go-to spot when the need for real, top notch Thai food is in order. Even when they are busy...which is often, the service is responsive and friendly. Decent Midtown location with ample parking, themed decor, spinning classic rock today. The main attraction are the dishes, where quality meets quantity. The fresh rolls (4 large pieces) come with your choice of peanut sauce or cilantro (or try both). A unique dish to Moo Dang are the Similan Noodles, Sen mee (vermicelli rice noodles) stir-fried with chicken, shrimp, garlic, egg, green onion, bell pepper, carrot, bean sprouts, and curry powder. Absolutely delicious!! Our other staple is Drunken Noodles, Sen yai (wide rice noodles) stir fried with your choice of meat, chili, garlic, onion, bell pepper, green beans, and basil. Spice levels are 1-5, from mild to melt your face off. I always opt for 3, but will venture to 4 on the next meal here. 3 is hot, but doesn't interfere with the flavor of the dishes. Again, spice levels are interpretive so choose wisely and know your palate. Unless you are a big eater, the dishes are enough for 2 meals. If you're looking for the best Thai in town, look no further!

I love moo dang's food so much, the pad Thai wasn't dried at all super flavorful and great quality and my panang curry was delicious. Packed a punch and a bit of heat. The Tom ka soup is one of my favorite items on the menu, I love how juicy the mushrooms get and the amazing balance of sweet and tangy coconut milk. I came in on a Friday night around 6 and the service wasn't great this time around unfortunately. Our food took over 25 minutes and our soup which we had ordered as an appetizer came after our main dishes which was odd. Also they forgot to ask for our spice levels! I'll attribute that to Friday night busyness because the food is really that good and comforting I will come back time and time again!

Ok first off some of the best Thai food I've had in a long time. The curry was so tasty and they actually give you a good amount of rice with it. The pad Thai tho exceeded my expectations. There was actually sauce on the noodles, it was super flavorful. I wish there were a couple more veggies in there. I will say the decor was lacking. But there are a lot of tables and we were able to get seated pretty much right away on a busy Friday. Even tho the staff was friendly and accommodating it took a long time to get our food and for some reason the soup came after the entrees. Would've loved more curry options and the prices were on the higher side but the portions were large. Definitely a good spot to guarantee get some good Thai food in Reno.

This place can't miss. Just had the best basil fried rice I've ever had. Moo Dang takes spice and authentic flavor seriously. Definitely worth a try if you're in the area, will absolutely be back for more!

To say I've been wanting to come here for a long time is an understatement, but finally made it this weekend. We were greeted by friendly staff and seated right away. The ambiance is unremarkable, but does display pictures and other Thailandish decor. I love the cart at the entrance! My husband and I shared several appetizers and actually remembered to check-in and request the Fish Balls. It worked...they were FREE!!! They were served with a Tamarind Sauce with crushed Peanuts, which was really good and the right amount of thickness. We also ordered the Calamari and Fried Spring Rolls. I found both to be lacking a bit in flavor and the Sweet Chilly Sauce on the watery side. My main dish was the Kra-Pow, Spicy Basil Stir Fry, with Chicken. Now this was tasty!!! It wasn't at all spicy (which I liked) and also found that it wasn't overly sweet. I would order this again in a heartbeat. It doesn't come with any rice though, not even white rice, so you will have to order that separately. Fortunately, it was all a generous serving, so I did get another meal out of this. I also like to try different Teas. Had the Ginger Tea, which was spicy, but really really good.

Love the lemongrass salad. The fresh rolls are the perfect appetizer (entree if you desire) because they're not too filling Of course, gotta try the pad thai. Was not able to get a picture if that tells you anything. Service is quick! Everyone works together and are very efficient. Restaurant vibe is casual, with easy parking.

Okay so the food is actually pretty good and pricing competitive, hence the 4 stars, but the lack of service was just so off-putting. We came on a Sunday night and the spot was poppin. It's a good size space inside, but it was slow moving as they did not utilize every table. We waited about 45 min to be seated, and then almost an hour for our food to arrive. We had to ask for utensils, plates, water refills, etc as these things were not brought to us. We had the Moo Ping, which are grilled pork skewers. These are nice and tender, served with some cukes and a tangy dipping sauce. It's technically an app but the time between when this was served, versus our other entrees, was ridiculously long. We had ordered rice as well, so that would have been nice to go along with the skewers but we didn't receive the rice until our other food arrived. We also got drunken noodles and the krapow basil with beef. Portions for both were great, and I'd def come back for the drunken noodles. The noodles and veggies in this dish were cooked perfectly. We got the krapow basil medium spicy, which was a good heat level for us. The beef was tender, veggies still had a slight crunch, but the sauce was a little bit tooo salty for my liking. It went well with the rice though! FYI- beef is a $2 up charge. Their menu is a lot smaller than other places, but of the dishes we tried, we were satisfied. Our biggest issue was just the wait time. They had a lot of to go orders they were filling, so those are likely prioritized. They're located in a plaza along with other businesses and restos, so parking isn't hard to find. If I'm ever back in the area, I'd visit again, but I'd make sure to come during non peak hours or call in an order to go. FYI - dishes do not come with steamed rice. 2 orders of rice are probably good for 2-3 people, maybe even 4 depending on what else is ordered.

Soup season to me screams Moo Dang! If you haven't had their Thai style noodle soups, you are sleeping on some of the best soul soothing options in town! I feel like most hear that this is a Thai restaurant and assume it's just like all the rest, but the fact is, Chef Opal has brought us some seriously special Thai dishes that you simply won't find elsewhere! Their Sukothai noodle soup was love at first slurp for me, and it's a serious craving I need to crush every couple of months, cold weather or not. The combo of sweet, salty, sour, and spicy is one of a kind and just hits on all levels. Traditionally it's served with rice noodles but I like the chewier and bouncy egg noodles so I get it with them. I also like to step up my soup experience with the "combo" that includes fried pork wontons, real crab meat, fish balls and jumbo tempura shrimp. Totally unnecessary since the soup already has ground pork and their house red roast pork, but by golly, it's excellent! Their namesake soup is also stellar, as are all of their apps like the moo ping, fresh rolls, and Thai wings! Moo Dang is simply amazing!
